D2K evolved from a desire to help local non-profits, small businesses, and municipalities grow their brands in an economically feasible way and a firm belief that these organizations are what truly make a place great. After working in and around the profession it became painfully apparent that most design firms are never truly invested in the place or industry they are seeking work, always in search of growth and larger clientele. So we took it upon ourselves to make the web more “customizingly” beautiful by reaching out to the real force behind the internet and helping make a difference in the community one organization at a time.
D2K is a sole proprietorship/partnership with several support personnel. Most would describe our organization as freelance but that implies that our value is less than that of larger design firms, a myth we are happy to disprove. Some might call us hobbyists, but that would suggest we don’t do this every day, which we do. Our small size is intentional to keep pricing at a level most can afford without sacrificing quality. We ask that you judge us by our work and not our size unless you like paying for additional overhead.
It's no small feat providing this level of service but that is how much we enjoy what we do and why the hampster won't get off the wheel when it's time to sleep.
Great design is universal. It speaks many languages but is rooted in sound principles and theory. D2K web design is grounded in these principles and it shows in all our designs. Form, color, texture, usability, and typography combine to create the experience you and your clients will love. While standards like HTML5, CSS3 and W3C validation make sure the structure is universally accepted.
Great graphic design can convey a message that simply cannot be achieved through traditional web based media. If your target audience is more print savvy than web savvy, traditional media will benefit sales and promotion more efficiently and effectively. Never underestimate the sense of touch, there is a reason books, newspaper, and magazines will never go out of style.
Analytic technologies can be used to track what pages your visitors are drawn to, how much time they spend per page, and in ecommerce situations track where along the line you may be losing sales. They can be used to find out where your visitors are coming from and what they’re doing while on your site. We can analyze these trends to increase advertising productivity, drive sales up, or make corrections were customers are being lost.
Sure anyone can take a photo but photography is more than the "point and shoot" some would have you believe. Photography is a mixture of composition, lighting, and timing coming together seamlessly in a moment. We know how to make these scenes happen and capture a moment that can truly last a lifetime. We are available for weddings, family get togethers, or artistic endeavors.

Hello there, friends call me Katie "Wheels" Lewis. I'll admit that I stole that one from United States of Tara and have attempted to make it stick. I daylight as a Brand Manager and Marketing Coordinator for Fleet Labs. I live analytics and social media on a daily basis, as well as poop and butt paste: a few of our products are within those categories:) I studied Marketing and English at Virginia Tech and have been fortunate enough to practice two things I have a great passion for.
